The most northerly 18-hole links on the British mainland, wrapped around Sandside Bay near Thurso on the NC500 — a natural, exposed James Braid Highland Golf Trail course owned by its members since 2017.
Founded in 1893 as a 12-hole course, which remained in play until 1940; James Braid visited in 1933 and recommended extending it to 18 holes. The club reopened in the early 1960s, with the clubhouse opening in 1963. In 2017 members and volunteers raised the funds to buy the course, and Mackenzie & Ebert have since been commissioned to look at improvements.

The 235-yard par-3 opener — a rare start to any round; the 196-yard par-3 7th, all carry over the Reay Burn; and the two-tiered 18th green. The stretch from the 3rd to the 9th is regarded as the strongest on the course.
